Personal Development

One of our courses here at the MTC (Missionary Training Center) is Personal Development, also known as “PD.”  This provides an opportunity for us to meet one-on-one (or couple to couple) with a staff couple.  During this time, relationships are built, questions are answered, and goals are established.   The objective of Personal Development is maturity in Christ.  Our ministry values, character, and capabilities are discussed all with the goal of maturity in Christ.  The couple that we were hooked up with is Bob and Sonya.  Bob and Sonya were missionaries in Liberia and Ivory Coast and now have a part in training up missionaries to go out.  We did not know them before coming here, and to be honest we were a little bit nervous about “PD”, but it has been such a blessing.  We have so enjoyed our time every week with Bob and Sonya, and we’ve really hit it off with them.  Usually when Bob says, “Well, it’s time for you guys to go”  I can hardly believe that the hour has gone by already!  They have been a big blessing and encouragement to us.  It has been great to build a relationship with them and be able to openly discuss things we are learning in class, share what’s going on in our lives, and pray together.  We are so thankful for them and for their involvement in our lives.
